We use Canadian dollars – The gold coin with the Loon on it is worth $1 and is called a “loonie,” the silver one with the gold center is worth $2 and is called a “toonie”. Also, we’re in the process of phasing out the penny; don’t be alarmed if your change has been rounded up or down to the nearest $0.05.

CURRENTLY $1 USD = $1.27 CANADIAN... THAT $13 CAB RIDE WAS ACTUALLY ONLY $10 US.

The best way to get from the airport to downtown is the UP Express from Pearson to Union Station on Front Street. It costs $12 (a cab will be pushing $60) and will put you within walking distance of all of the conference hotels.

NOTE: DO NOT GET OFF AT THE BLOOR STOP – WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE LINE.

Find the CN Tower.

If you get lost... look up! The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is basically right at its base on Front Street. To help with directions, Lake Ontario is to the South.
